Brookefield Global Relocation Services (BGRS) holds the current Internal Relocation Program (IRP) contract for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). Previously, the sub-company Royal LePage held the contract before a rebranding to BGRS occurred. BGRS aims to offer support, information, and aid to military personnel throughout their House Hunting Trip (HHT) process.
A significant shift in BGRS policy now requires military members to complete their relocation process digitally, using the BGRS App, available for both desktop and smartphone platforms.
However, there are certain prerequisites for utilizing BGRS's customer service: receipt of your Posting Message, authorization for the move provided by your CAF Chain of Command, and the creation of an account with BGRS. It's recommended that military members check out the "CAF Relocation Program Overview" presentation online for additional Q&A, no registration required.
Once you receive your Posting Message with your COS date, you're permitted to register with BGRS online. They provide an official authorization alongside comprehensive checklists and steps to undertake. You'll also gain an understanding of your HHT benefits and entitlements.
Registering with BGRS is a straightforward process, especially if you've received your Posting Message and know your COS. Typically, within a business day, BGRS provides a "APS 22 Relocation Package" with specific information about your relocation, BGRS, and HHT.
Since December 1, 2017, BGRS no longer offers in-person reps at any base. Instead, they encourage you to register and download their app. Then, a BGRS Rep will be assigned to your file. After discussing your potential postings with your Career Manager and receiving your official Posting Message, you can select a realtor and pre-register with BGRS. Use their mobile app to complete a Preliminary Relocation Assessment and book a Planning Session. It's also recommended to secure a mortgage pre-approval, so you're ready for your home HHT.
Post-registration, a Brookfield Advisor will be assigned to discuss your relocation intentions and book your first Planning Session. Getting a mortgage pre-approval is advisable to stay ahead of other buyers during your HHT.
Navigating BGRS can be challenging and stressful, especially with the absence of BGRS Reps on bases. The BGRS app aims to simplify this process, and once a rep is assigned to you, things become easier.

BGRS's Canadian Forces Phone Number is 1-844-447-5520. If you're a Realtor, Home Inspector, or Real Estate Lawyer and would like to become BGRS approved, there are consultations available on how to get on their list.
